These itineraries have been designed
to provide examples of the style of short break you
can organise. We encourage you to build your own break,
but if you would like some help please do not hesitate
to contact us.
Day
1. Travel by Interisland
ferry through Cook Strait and into Queen Charlotte
Sound, disembarking in Picton. Board a Cougar Line
boat for a comfortable ride to your accommodation
at either Portage Resort Hotel, Punga Cove Resort
or Furneaux Lodge. Dine in the stunning surrounds
of the resort, soaking up the views from your restaurant
over a glass of Marlborough wine.
Day 2 and
3. Just relax or enjoy an activity or two.
Cruising, fishing, walking, sea kayaking, mountain
biking are all options (these can vary dependent upon
your choice of accommodation).
Day 4. Transfer to Picton by water taxi in time to
meet your Interisland ferry for your return journey
back to reality.
Day
1. Travel by Interisland
ferry through Cook Strait and into Queen Charlotte
Sound, disembarking in Picton. Stay at The Yacht Club
Hotel Resort.
Day 2. Take a 5 hour walk on the Queen Charlotte Track
with the Cougar Line, from Ship Cove to Furneaux Lodge,
return to Picton at the end of the day.
Day 3. Wine tour of the Marlborough wineries.
Day 4. Rest and relax for the morning around Picton’s
cafes and galleries before travelling home.
Incorporate any of the
great adventure packages such as the 4 or 5 day guided
or freedom walk on the Queen Charlotte Track with
a day in the wineries, and return home having experienced
some of the best of both worlds: Lots of fun activity
with great food and wine.
